What is SBI KYC ?
KYC means "Know Your Customer". KYC is an identification process conducted by the Reserve Bank of India, with the help of which banks and other financial institutions get to know their customers better.
Banks and financial companies fill the form for this and also take some proof of identity with it.- Passport.
- Voter's Identity Card.
- Driving Licence.
- Aadhaar Letter/Card.
- NREGA Card.
- PAN Card.
Possessing a PAN card is made mandatory for all the income-earning individuals and non- individuals by the Government of India.PAN is one of the important documents that individual must provide during the KYC process.
How to update SBI KYC online or offline ?
Customers have to visit the SBI branch near them and provide a copy of any of the address and identity (ID) proof that is accepted for the KYC update. The SBI net banking users can do their KYC online also. According to SBI website, You need to submit a valid government id card.

How to fill up your KYC form
Group A
- The name of the applicant, given in your identity card, is to be filled. In a number columns as well as you have to write your father's name as given in your identity card. If you are a simple woman then you can also write your husband's name here.
- A number 2columns has 3 parts, so in (a) you have to tell your gender whether you are a woman or a man. Then in (b) you have to tell whether you are a century or not, after this, in (c) You have to write your birth date as shown in the form i.e. first date then month then year.
- Nationality has to be written in the number 3 column. Because foreigners cannot apply in India for whom, therefore only the Indian option has been given.
- In the number column, you have to tell whether you live in India or outside. Submission of passport copy is mandatory for Indians residing outside India.
- In the 5 number column you have to write your PAN number which is necessary, without it KYC cannot be updated, after this you can write your Aadhaar number if you have it.
- After this, in the number 6 column, you have to write the name of the document that you will submit in your proof of identity. Here we will tell you which documents you can give as identity proof.
Group B
- Here in the number 1 column you will have to fill your current address, but keep in mind that the document you are submitting for address proof, if the address is not match, your form will be canceled.
- In number 2, you have to give your contact details like mobile number, email id, fax number, landline number.
- In number 3, you have to write the name of the document that you will submit for your address proof. Keep in mind that if your current address and permanent is different, you will have to submit proof for both.
Goup C
- In number 1 row, you have to give information about your income. So according to the given option, you choose your income. And you have to tell the same income by writing it exactly as per date.

- If you want to tell your occupation in the number 2 column, then you can choose your occupation according to the given option.
- In this column, you have to tell whether you are an activist of a political party, that means you are in a big post of a political party or you have a relationship with a leader, if it is not so then you leave this row.
After this, you will have to sign the declaration, in which it will be written that all the information given by you above is completely correct and if any information comes out wrong then you will be responsible for it.
After this, leave the bottom part for official use. And after completing the form, put your resent passport photo whose size should be around 30x40mm. After this, attest your ID proof and address proof and submit it with SBI KYC form.
